DEWALT DW745 review

Offering plenty of power (15 amps power the heartbeat of this table saw), it features a 10-inch blade that is easy to adjust and will cut on a bevel and an angle with no difficulty either.

Precision cuts are simple and straightforward with this table saw, and while you might not have the finite adjustment and exact repeatability with this portable job site saw that you’ll get with traditional – and oversized – cabinet style table saws, anyone not making fine furniture on a large scale will never notice.

The portability of this table saw shouldn’t go underappreciated, but the fact that it can be “stabilized” and built into a benchtop solution that isn’t going to be wheeled all over the place – and has the consistency and repeatability of cuts to do so reliably – is a game-changing feature that separates the Dewalt from everything else out there.

On top of all that you throw in the legendary reputation of this company, the sheer volume of accessories and jigs you can pick up ready to go for this song right out of the box, and the user-friendliness of its set up and this is a no-brainer tool purchase.

Bosch Cabinet Style Router Table Saw RA1171 review

A workshop that has been set up with a quality table saw like this one, a router and router table, and a chop saw can accomplish some pretty amazing things – and this Bosch Cabinet style unit is going to kill two of those birds with one purchase.

The 10-inch table saw is blazing fast and plenty powerful enough to chew through pretty much any hardwood material you can throw at it, and it has been designed to adequately accept dado blades as well without any fiddling around. This opens up the versatility of your table saw, something that the inclusion of the router table feature expands on even more so.

Don’t sleep on the router table features of this saw, either. Though you’ll have to get your hands on a quality router to make the most of this addition (something that can be a bit of a challenge in and of itself), the router table will completely transform the kinds of projects you can confidently tackle in your workshop.

Best DIY Table Saw

Why you should buy this:

  • Dimensions: 28.9 x 20.9 x 13 inches
  • Weight: 67 pounds
  • Features: 15 Amp Motor. EZ View Measurement System. 3-1/2-Inch Cut Height Capacity.

Weekend warriors, DIYers, and homeowners that want to have a table saw on hand but may not be using it quite as frequently as professional tradesmen or serious woodworkers will find this tool has all they could look for and then some at a very affordable price point.

Why we picked the SKIL 3410-02 10-Inch Table Saw:
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, you really cannot overstate just how affordable this 10-inch table saw is – and how much it changes the viability and attractiveness of this table saw because of it. Far more affordable than any of the other options on this list, the manufacturer has not cut corners or crippled quality to get the price tag down either. It’s not quite as feature-rich as some of the other options, but it is still a dependable workhorse.

Just a little bit smaller than our top reviewed Dewalt Table Saw, this is a very portable option and one that is perfect for smaller sized workshops that might be set up in the garage or in a basement somewhere.

The features on this saw are a little bit stripped-down and not quite as expansive as some of the more expensive products on the market, but this is still very much a capable saw that can cut through materials that get pretty sick – all thanks to the adjustable depth on the cutting platform.

Energy-efficient, easy to manipulate, and designed with some pretty intuitive and protective safety features on board, you won’t have to spend a lot of money to get a lot of value with this table saw. But don’t feel like the lower price tag means that this table saw isn’t feature-rich or capable. It’s a rock solid option for those that don’t want to blow their budget on a single tool investment.

Top Jobsite Table Saw

Why you should buy this:
The newer model of our top reviewed Dewalt table saw, this unit expands upon everything that the top option does right – but has a higher price tag because of it. If you’re looking for the latest and greatest benchtop table saw solution, something to sit atop your workbench, and have the budget to do so this is a great option.

  • Dimensions: 31 x 24.5 x 31 inches
  • Weight: 110 pounds
  • Features: 2-1/2 inch Rip capacity. Rolling stand with excellent stability.

Who it’s for:
Professional carpenters and tradespeople that depend on their tools for a living – and have the money to invest in top-quality options – as well as serious DIY and hobbyist woodworkers have fallen head over heels in love with everything that this somewhat small jobsite style table saw has to offer.

Why we picked the DEWALT DWE7491RS 10-Inch Jobsite Table Saw:
Feature-rich and again showcasing that legendary Dewalt reliability and durability, your money is going to be well invested in this expensive saw set up. You get what you pay for here for sure which makes getting over that initial sticker shock a little bit easier.

The table saw fence that this Dewalt comes with right out of the box isn’t quite as accurate or as a useful as you’d expect from a saw at this price point.

Most serious table saw users create their own fence or invest in accurate aftermarket options anyway, and that’s probably a direction you want to go in as well.

Rockwell RK7241S review

Precision is the name of the game when it comes to this Rockwell saw, making it one of the most precise affordable saws we have seen in recent years.

Still not quite as precise or as repeatable as some of the much larger, commercial style cabinet table saws this goes well above and beyond the accuracy and precision any of the job site style table saws could ever hope to produce.

Fantastic for fine furnishings, cabinets, and certainly any woodworking projects you might like to take on, this amazing piece of technology does a great job knocking out construction projects as well. This is not the kind of table saw you’re ever going to want to use when you rough chop building material or are tackling a construction project – that would be like using a scalpel when you’re putting peanut butter on a sandwich.

But if you need ridiculous precision, amazing repeatability, and a system that can be quickly calibrated to produce consistent results with each and every cut you need look no further than this saw.

You’ll spend a little bit of extra money on this Rockwell, but the high-end construction materials and fantastic engineering results in a saw that’s going to last a lifetime – and then some.

Table Saw FAQ

You always want to make sure the saw is unplugged. Once you remove the blade guard, you will see an arbor nut and a blade locking pin that holds the blade in place. Using the included wrenches, you need to loosen the nut in order to change the blade.

Sharpening table saw blades is possible but can be very time-consuming. With the use of a triangle file or Dremel tool, it is necessary to sharpen each tooth on the blade. Many blades are not carbide and this requires professional sharpening rather than a do it yourself option.

Circular saws are mobile and easy to move from one place to the next. However, a table saw is not convenient to move around. A table saw offers a place in which to place the material you are cutting, whereas a circular saw does not offer this. Depending on the project and you need to move around will determine which is the better choice.

While a miter saw blade will definitely fit on a table saw for you to use, you will find that you have fewer teeth on a miter saw blade. Depending on what type of material you are cutting, you may not get the best cut like you would with a table saw blade.

A table saw is a tool that is used in woodworking. A circular saw blade is mounted on an arbor and driven by an electric motor. The blade comes up through the surface of the table, allowing support for the material that is being cut, typically wood. The depth of the cut can be adjusted.

With the use of a miter gauge, you can cut any angle that you want with a table saw. It will take a bit of practice to perfect the art of cutting angles but it is certainly something that can be done using a table saw.

A table saw is primarily used to take larger materials, typically wood, and cut them into smaller pieces for woodworking projects. They provide a safe option for cutting down materials of various sizes.
